China, The Olympics, and Foreign Policy?

The Olympics in 2008 are going to be China's coming out party. What kind of role do you think that the Olympics are going play on foreign policy? Recently Steven Spielberg decided he was going to boycott the Olympics. Protests are breaking out in Tibet. Is the international community going to take notice? How is China going to react to these protests under international attention?
